Liverpool is invaded by the ‘Cilla’ cast & crew!
The streets of Liverpool came alive in an explosion of colour and dance as filming began on Ellis’ debut single video ‘Cilla Black’s TV.
Over 100 performers and a crew of 60 created the musical spectacular in all weather, over 72 gruelling hours.
Performers alongside Ellis - transformed as you’ve never seen them before - included stunning actress Nikki Sanderson as a 1960’s Cilla and Liverpool’s own Dean Sullivan as a dancing drunk.
Dancers from celebrated Liverpool choreographer Miguel Doforo’s MD productions performed as recogniseable British stereotypes such as Builders, Hoodies, Goths, footballer’s WAGS, Bankers and business people.
The Liverpool Foxes cheerleading squad tirelessly created amazing stunts and routines and the Port Sunlight Lyceum brass band provided some Sgt Pepper’s-style magic.

Liverpool premiers Cilla Black’s TV!
Traffic in Liverpool city centre came to a standstill when the stars turned out for the premier of Ellis’ music video ‘Cilla Black’s TV at FACT.
True to the 1960’s theme, 50 mods on vintage scooters from the Liverpool scooter club rode in convoy to bring Ellis and Nikki Sanderson to the red carpet in style.
Stunning actress Claire King - star of Ellis’ follow up single ‘Beautiful, dangerous people’ - also donned ‘60’s biker gear and jumped aboard a Vespa.
Cast and crew enjoyed the premier and partied hard in the bar afterwards. Guests enjoyed a stunning cake created by the Liverpool cake shop.
Ellis was styled by Accent clothing and wore shirt by Lyle & Scott, Jeans by Nudie Jeans and vintage jacket from Baracuta. See all the pictures in the GALLERY |
